Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Why should I have my carpets cleaned?
A.  Over time, even the most spotless looking carpets and upholstery collect germs, dust, and soil below the surface. Allergy causing agents such pet hair, dust mites, pollen, and dander can dwell deep within carpet threads affecting you and your family long after the allergy season is gone. In the "high traffic” areas of your home, any tracking of dirt causes an increase in friction, resulting in additional wear and actually cutting those delicate carpet fibers. Consequently, the overall beauty and life is compromised. Regular cleaning of high usage areas not only enhances the appearance of your fabrics, it also extends their life.

Q. How often should I have my carpets cleaned?
A.  Most carpet manufacturers recommend regular vacuuming and having your carpets professionally cleaned every 12 months. Every home is different, however, and frequency of cleaning depends on traffic volume. For instance, a family including children and maybe even an indoor pet may require more frequent cleanings.

The key to giving your carpet a long life is to clean it before you start recognizing worn and stained areas. If it looks dirty, you have already begun to do damage to your carpet.

Q. How long will it take to clean my carpet?
A.  On average, it will take approximately 15 minutes per room. This time can vary greatly depending on the amount of furniture to be moved, how dirty the carpet is, and any necessary spot removal treatments.

Q. How long will it take for my carpets or upholstery to dry?
A.  Drying time of a carpet is regulated by humidity, air flow to the room, and the type of carpet. The use of air conditioning or heat, depending on the time of year, will help speed the process. We use a low-moisture system on upholstery so drying time is kept to a minimum, usually 1 to 3 hours. Our average dry time for carpets is 4 to 6 hours, but that can greatly vary depending on the aforementioned variables. Sometimes, carpet can take up to 24 hours to dry in very humid or cold environments.

Q. Can I walk on my carpets after they are cleaned??
A.  Until carpeting is dry, eliminating traffic on it helps to prevent re-soiling. Even slight amounts of moisture can easily dislodge dirt from the bottoms of feet and paws. Wear shoe covers or a pair of clean, white socks if you must walk on wet carpet. Use caution when walking from wet carpet onto a hard surface to avoid slipping.

Q. Do I have to be home while my carpets are cleaned?
A.  It is not necessary that you be home while your carpet is cleaned because our cleaning technicians are thoroughly trained professionals you can trust and we are bonded as well. In order to provide the best possible cleaning, we do recommend that someone is home before we begin cleaning to discuss any specific needs or areas of concern regarding the care of your carpet. We can also receive credit card payments over the phone at the time of service.

Q. Will you move furniture?
A.  When the technician is in your home, he will clean around any furniture or objects that are on the floor. We suggest moving furniture into an area that will not be cleaned before the technician arrives. If you would like for us to move items, we charge a flat rate of $5 per piece. We cannot move extremely heavy or valuable items, or any electronics.

Do not replace furniture, or move any of the pads or blocks under your furniture, until the carpet is completely dry. This will prevent rust spots or stains caused by furniture legs to form on your carpet.

Q. What should I do if the stains that were cleaned reappear?
A.  Although most stains that are removed from carpet do not reappear, deep stains in carpet backing and high traffic areas may rise back to the surface or become more visible once the carpet is dry. If this happens, call Seminole Carpet Cleaning within 14 days of cleaning for assistance.

Q. How often should I have my tile and grout cleaned?
A.  Manufacturers of tile and grout recommend that it should be deep cleaned and sealed every 2-3 years. However, if you choose our clean and seal special, we offer great discounts on cleaning before the one year mark.

Q. long do I have to stay off the floor after sealant has been applied to the grout?
A.  We recommend that you wait at least one hour before walking on the floor to allow the sealant to dry. It will take 24 hours for the sealant to cure completely, so we suggest that you avoid any liquid coming in contact with the sealant during that time.

Q. How do you guarantee customer satisfaction?
A.  At Seminole Carpet Cleaning, we take great pride in maintaining an excellent customer satisfaction record. All of our work is guaranteed for 14 days following service. If, for any reason, you are not completely satisfied with our work results, please feel free to contact us. We are happy to work with you to correct any situation that may arise.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A.  If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call no less than 24 hours before your appointment time. If no one is home when the technician arrives, he will wait for 10 minutes after the scheduled time before it is considered a no-show. No-shows, cancellations, and rescheduling appointments less than 24 hours before your appointment time will result in a forfeited deposit and may be charged a $25 cancellation fee.

Q. How does the deposit work?
A.  A $25 deposit is required to schedule any cleaning appointment. All deposits are non-refundable, but the amount will be applied towards your total bill at the time of service. If you need to reschedule your appointment, you must give us at least 24 hours notice for the deposit to be applied to the new appointment.

If an appointment is canceled or re-scheduled within 24 hours of the original appointment time, or no one is at the residence when the technician arrives, the entire deposit amount is forfeited and you will be charged another deposit to re-schedule the appointment.
